As we move from the shouts of Hosanna into the searching days of Holy Week, the Gospel of John invites us to walk closely with Jesus—and to notice how easily focus can slip. Between chapters 12 and 20, the disciples move from celebration to confusion, from confident loyalty to fearful scattering. Their world is unraveling, and the Jesus they thought they understood seems to be revealing a deeper, more costly love.
Holy Week teaches us that worship is not sustained by clarity alone, but by trust. When understanding falters, Jesus keeps loving, serving, and giving himself fully. He washes feet, speaks farewell words, prays for his friends, and walks willingly toward the cross. Even when the disciples lose sight of him, he never loses sight of them.
This week calls us to remain—when praise feels easy and when faith feels fragile—trusting that resurrection hope is already taking shape, even in the shadows.
